ADOPTED DOGS 2016

"Truffle" came to DunRoamin' from the Perth-Andover area on December 21, 2016.  She is a beautiful little lab mixed-breed girl who was born as the result of unplanned breeding.  She was therefore not wanted and had been in several homes in her short life - she was born about September 27, 2016.  She deserved family and stability, so she came to us to ensure she was spayed, vaccinated, cared for and received the care she is due.

Truffle is currently fortunate enough to have a foster home.  Her foster mother reports that she is very interested in cats - she's getting lots of exposure to them.  She is energetic and loves to play with bigger dogs.  She is loving, cuddly and hopes to have a family with whom to share her affection for Christmas.  What a present that would be!!

On December 31, 2016, Truffle was officially invited to be part of the family of a gentleman from Woodstock.  You got it made now, little one!  Congratulations!  Send photos!!

"Rouge" was surrendered to DunRoamin' on the evening of December 19, 2016 from the Lindsay area.  She is a Shepherd mixed breed who was born about December 19, 2012.  She was diagnosed with pyometra (her uterus was infected and therefore filled with pus).  She had been vomiting, not eating and had a vaginal discharge.  She was a very sick little girl who required immediate medical attention.

Rouge underwent surgery on the morning of December 20, 2016 to rectify her medical problem and she did very well.  She is a very quiet, gentle and friendly little girl and she'll show much more of that personality once she's feeling a little better.  Donations toward her care are welcome and appreciated - Please check out donation options here or at our Rescue Christmas For Our Rescues fund-raising page.

On December 22, 2016, we learned that Rouge has been adopted into a family from the Woodstock area.  Congratulations, Rouge.  Merry Christmas!

"Nasa," her three brothers Dipper, Crater, Orbit and sisters Galaxy and Stellar came to us from the Plaster Rock area on December 5, 2016.  They had been born to unspayed/unneutered parents and their family could not keep them.  They were born about October 1, 2016.  All had fleas and worms but were otherwise healthy.  All will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and treated for parasites.  They are Lab mixed-breed puppies.  Nasa is completely black in colour.

All puppies were bathed, fed and quickly fell into a well-deserved sleep.  Nasa was fostered with her sister Galaxy with a family with young children where they had a blast playing and learning new things.  Their greatest wish was to have permanent families for Christmas!

On December 21, 2016, that wish came true for Nasa.  She now lives in Yoho, NB with a wonderful couple and she has a new feline brother, Johnny, who was also DunRoamin' before he got that great new home.  Congratulations to everyone.  Merry Christmas!!

"Stellar," her three brothers Dipper, Crater and Orbit and sisters Nasa and Galaxy came to us from the Plaster Rock area on December 5, 2016.  They had been born about October 1, 2016 to unspayed/unneutered parents and their family could not keep them.  All had fleas and worms but were otherwise healthy.  All will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and treated for parasites.  They are Lab mixed-breed puppies.

All puppies were bathed, fed and quickly fell into a well-deserved sleep.  Stellar was fostered with a DunRoamin' friend where she had a great time until she was adopted to a home in Fredericton, but due to changing circumstances beyond the adopter's control and totally unrelated to Stellar, she was returned on December 14th.  She was now hoping that things would fall in place and she might still get that family she's been dreaming of for Christmas.

On December 21, 2016, her wish came true.  Stellar now lives in Fredericton with her new favourite man.  She's in love!  And so is he!  Congratulations, Stellar.  Please send us photos of you and your family at Christmas time!

"Orbit," his two brothers Dipper and Crater and three sisters Nasa, Galaxy and Stellar came to us from the Plaster Rock area on December 5, 2016.  They had been born to unspayed/unneutered parents and their family could not keep them.  They were born about October 1, 2016.  All had fleas and worms but were otherwise healthy.  They are Lab mixed-breeds.

All puppies were bathed, fed and quickly fell into a well-deserved sleep.  Orbit was fostered by a friend in Meductic who was also fostering Dmitri, our diabetic cat (see our Adopt A Cat page).  Orbit hoped for a well-deserved permanent and loving home, hopefully as a Christmas present!

On December 21, 2016, that's exactly what he got!  Orbit now lives with his permanent loving family in Saint John, NB.  We hope you'll send Christmas photos of you and your new family, Orbit!  Merry Christmas!

"Galaxy," her three brothers Dipper, Crater and Orbit and sisters Nasa and Stellar came to us from the Plaster Rock area on December 5, 2016.  They had been born to unspayed/unneutered parents and their family could not keep them.  They were born about October 1, 2016.  All had fleas and worms but were otherwise healthy.  All will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and have already begun their treatment for parasites.  They are Lab mixed-breed puppies.  Galaxy is all black with a white patch under her neck.

All puppies were bathed, fed and quickly fell into a well-deserved sleep.  Galaxy is fostered with her sister Nasa with a family with young children where they'll have a blast playing and learning new things.  Galaxy hopes to have a permanent family for Christmas!

On December 14, 2016, we learned that Galaxy would get her wish.  She now lives with a wonderful family in Sussex and she is so looking forward to her new life.  Congratulations, Galaxy.  Merry Christmas!

"Stellar," her three brothers Dipper, Crater and Orbit and sisters Nasa and Galaxy came to us from the Plaster Rock area on December 5, 2016.

All puppies were bathed, fed and quickly fell into a well-deserved sleep.  Stellar was fostered with a DunRoamin' friend where she had a great time until . . .

. . . December 12, 2016, when she learned that she would now have a permanent home for Christmas!  Stellar will live in Fredericton where she'll have the life she deserves.  Merry Christmas!

"Dipper," his two brothers Orbit and Crater and three sisters Nasa, Galaxy and Stellar came to us from the Plaster Rock area on December 5, 2016.  They had been born to unspayed/unneutered parents and their family could not keep them.  They were born about October 1, 2016.  All had fleas and worms but were otherwise healthy, although Dipper had some dermatitis over his shoulders - it's fine now.  All will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and have already begun their treatment for parasites.  They are Lab mixed-breed puppies.  Dipper is completely black in colour.

All puppies were bathed, fed and quickly fell into a well-deserved sleep.  Dipper and Crater were fostered in a family with young children where they learned lots of new things.

On December 12, 2016, Dipper received the Christmas present he's been waiting for:  he has a permanent home in Taymouth, NB.  Congratulations!  Have a wonderful Christmas and send us family photos of you under the tree!

"Crater," his two brothers Dipper and Orbit and three sisters Nasa, Galaxy and Stellar came to us from the Plaster Rock area on December 5, 2016.  They had been born to unspayed/unneutered parents and their family could not keep them or provide for their needs.  They were born about October 1, 2016.  All had fleas and worms but were otherwise healthy.  Crater had some dermatitis over his shoulders but it was quickly treated.  All will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and have already begun their treatment for parasites.  They are Lab mixed-breed puppies.

All puppies were bathed, fed and quickly fell into a well-deserved sleep.  Crater is fostered with his brother Dipper with a family with young children where they'll have a blast playing and learning new things.  They hope to have permanent families for Christmas!

On December 10, 2016, Crater was the first of his family to get a Christmas present.  He was chosen by a very nice family from Fredericton where he will live in the love and kindness that he deserves.  We are so grateful tht he found such a wonderful family with Jasper, another canine friend for him, as well as two cats, Sam and Wally, all of whom are rescues.  Thank you!!  Merry Christmas!

"Blackie Chan" came to DunRoamin' on November 7, 2016, from Woodstock where he was the victim of frequent and repeated attacks by other dogs in the neighbourhood.  As a result, he displayed numerous scars and healing bite wounds.  He required the removal of several fractured teeth and one infected tooth.  He also had what was most probably a tumour on his testicle which was removed during his neuter and is no longer a concern.

Blackie Chan is a sweetheart.  He is quiet and loving.  "Grateful" is written all over his scarred, handsome  and expressive face.  He was hoping for a peaceful retirement home with someone who would love and care for him as he deserved.  He was born about December 7, 2006 and is grateful to finally be starting the life he was meant to live.  He has friends and caregivers and his eyes now glisten and shine with gratitude from the care in his foster home.

On December 9, 2016, we learned that Blackie will now be a permanent family member, as his foster family just couldn't do without him.  Congratulations, Blackie.  You've made it!

"Jagger" came to us on November 2, 2016 from Centreville.  He was already neutered and vaccinated.  He is a sweet little boy who likes people, other dogs, cats and everyone who likes him.  He was fostered in Riverbank where he got along with the entire family very well.  He was born about November 2, 2014.

On November 18, 2016, Jagger was adopted by a nice family in Mazerolle Settlement where he has a new canine friend who is about his age - they love each other!  His new family loves to spend outdoor time with him and he LOVES chasing that ball.  Congratulations, Jagger, have a great life!

"Onyx" came to DunRoamin' on October 31, 2016 from the Woodstock area where he was surrendered to the NB SPCA.  He was born about November 1, 2014 and is a black Lab mix with a small white spot on his chest.  He is not neutered (he will be!) and he weighs about 58 pounds.

Onyx's foster mother reports that he is a very sweet and energetic boy.  He loves every dog and cat he has met so far in his time with us.  He is well on his way to being house trained and is a boisterous, typical puppy who likes getting into things and has done very well at learning basic commands.  He's not all that keen on being crated, but he loves people and we're sure he'll make an excellent addition to the perfect family.

On November 9, 2016, that's exactly what happened!  Onyx is now the proud new member of a wonderful family in Peel where he will be a new friend for Lady, a Shepherd and three ex-DunRoamin' cats, Fivel, Sergio and Gerard.  Congratulations to all!  Please send pictures very soon!

"Ishta" came to us on October 21, 2016 from Mainstream, NB.  Born about February 21, 2016, she is a Lab mix.  She was observed being abandoned when she was dumped out of a truck in a potato field.  Luckily for her, someone took her home for the night to ensure she was safe and fed.  Ishta was in heat.

A beautiful young puppy, she was initially shy, but within five minutes she loves you!  She tolerates cats, walks well on a leash, knows some basic commands, is smart, attentive and will be a wonderful friend for any family.  She was spayed, vaccinated and treated for parasites and she's just bouncing with thoughts of a loving family!

On November 4, 2016, we learned that Ishta would be the newest family member of a lady from Elmwood where she'll be a friend for several other DunRoamin' strays.  Congratulations, Ishta, you've got a GREAT home!!  Send us some family photos!

"Henna" came to us on October 24, 2016 from the Tobique area where she was found as a stray running loose.  She was thin, hungry, had a distended abdomen and a dirty, greasy coat.  She had not been cared for and needed help.

Henna was born about June 15, 2016.  She is a boxer/shepherd mixed breed who has a very sweet personality.  She loves people and other dogs.  She is almost completely house trained and enjoys sleeping in her crate.  She had no idea how to play when she came to us, but her foster mother is teaching her all the puppy things she needs to know.  Being a smart young girl, she is learning very quickly.  Her foster mother reports that overall, she is quite calm for a puppy!!  Thanks for taking such good care of her, Riley.

On October 31, 2016, Henna was adopted by a young lady from Charlottetown, PEI.  Congratulations, Henna!  Make sure you stay in touch with us with photos and updates on how wonderful your new life is!

Meet "Sheldon."  Sheldon came to us from the Grand Falls SPCA on October 6, 2016.  He had wandered into a  home in Drummond a couple of days previously, obviously injured.  The gentleman fed him, kept him safe overnight and took him to the Grand Falls SPCA the next morning.  He was taken for help, but they were unable to successfully fix his possibly-broken/dislocated hind leg.  He was then surrendered to DunRoamin' for a second (or third) chance, where his vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic discovered that his leg was dislocated and fractured at the growth plate.  She successfully performed a femoral head neck excision  on October 17, 2016.

Sheldon is sweet little a Lab mix who was born about October 6, 2015.  He loves people and enjoys cats.

. . . on October 18, 2016 he was adopted by a gentleman from Wicklow where he will be a new friend for their dog.  Congratulations, Sheldon, your new life begins!  Send us photos of you and your family - we'd love to see you grow up!

"Magic" came to DunRoamin' from the Grand Falls area on October 5, 2016.  She is a Shihtzu who was born about October 5, 2010.  She was already spayed and will have her vaccines and parasite control updated immediately.

Magic was mildly overweight and had a bit of tartar on her teeth, but was otherwise healthy.  She loves everyone, including cats and dogs.  She is happy to be with people and is interested in sharing quality time with them at every opportunity - she'll follow you around and sleep at your feet.  It takes her a short time to become familiar with people, but then she's in love forever!  She likes riding in cars and sleeping on her own soft, warm bed with her favourite stuffed animal.   Although she does not require a special diet, she's found that human food does not agree with her at all.  Magic is attentive and smart.  She likes to jump up on a couch or bed for a nap, but will also go to her own bed when requested.

We'd like to thank Carol Anne Naves for the beautiful haircut Magic received - she feels SO much better!  Check out Carol Anne's Dog Grooming and Training site here.  Thanks again for helping us care for these little ones - your support is greatly appreciated.

On October 17, 2016, Magic was adopted by a very nice family from Centreville.  She has a canine sister, Molly, and two human sisters as part of her new family.  Congratulations, Magic.  Please send photos!!

"Petro" was returned to us on October 4, 2016.  He had originally come from the Florenceville area on June 8, 2015 as a seizure from the SPCA as he was not being cared for and needed some help.  He is a 40-pound Terrier mix who is neutered, healthy and up to date on all vaccines.  He was born about June 8, 2013 and is a very nice boy.

Petro loves to be with people.  He likes cats and he loves to go in the car.  He also loves to go for walks.  He is very sweet, very loving and very smart.  He does not enjoy being by himself and would particularly benefit from having another dog for company.  He would also like to have a chance to participate in some obedience training - he already knows quite a lot (sit, come, etc) and would love to bond with his family by furthering his education.

On October 11, 2016, Petro was adopted by a lady from Beaconsfield where he'll live happily ever after.  Congratulations, Petro!  Send us lots of photos of you and your family!  See you on Facebook!!

"Sketcher" came to us from the Grand Falls area on September 23, 2016.  She was born about September 23, 2013 and is a Chihuahua mixed-breed.  She was healthy but quite nervous, having a tendency to snap if she was scared.  Sketcher was not yet spayed.

Sketcher would prefer a home without young children.  She enjoys going outside and if you sit on the floor with her she likes to converse at her own level!  Quick movements make her nervous, but we've found as she grows comfortable and confident with us, she's doing much better.

On October 5, 2016, Sketcher met a very nice lady who travelled all the way from Prince Edward Island to meet her.  They took to each other immediately and the rest, as they say, is history.  Now known as Nikki, she is set for life!  Thanks to her new family!  Don't forget to send photos!

"Shalilah" came to DunRoamin' from the Grand Falls area on September 23, 2016.  Her owner could no longer keep her and there was no place for her to go in her area.

Shalilah was born about February 23, 2016 and is a Shepherd mixed-breed.  She had dirty ears but was healthy.   Shalilah was shy, but very willing to please.  She knows a few commands and is happy to be with us.  She seems to enjoy other dogs and is content in her kennel.  We've also noticed that she has no problem at all with cats (wags her tail when she sees them!) and loves kids as well.  She also loves hugs and walks.  She quickly started to come out of her shell and show herself to be an energetic, happy puppy who would love to have a family of her own who will take her for lots of walks and to obedience classes so she can be the best she can possibly be!   When she's really happy, she can jump straight up in the air with all four legs!  She is eager to please and learn - she can't wait!

On September 28, 2016, Shalilah was adopted by a family in Fredericton where she'll have the company of a very loving little girl to be her best friend.  She fell in love with them the first time they met!  Thanks to this family for giving her the home she's been needing.

"Calvin" came to us on September 15, 2016 from the Grand Falls area.  He is a border collie mix who was born about September 15, 2013.

Calvin had roamed the community for approximately three years without guidance and was recently surrendered by his owner.  He was not neutered or vaccinated, but those things were looked after immediately.  He was looking for a family with which to bond and enjoy the rest of his life.    In the short time he was with us he showed himself to be a quiet, gentle, respectful little boy who was very happy just to spend time with people.  He loves kids and has no problem at all with cats or other dogs.  He's just 100% sweetheart, plain and simple!

On September 22, 2016, Calvin met a young lady from Moncton and it was instant attraction.  Calvin now lives with her there.  Congratulations, Calvin.  We know we'll get lots of photos and updates!!

"Charm" came to DunRoamin' on September 12, 2016 from Grand Falls where he had been a stray who was picked up in front of Giant Tiger a few days previously.  His time was up with the dog catcher and no one in the Grand Falls area would take him in.  Since he is just a pup (born about November 12, 2015) we couldn't let anything happen to him.

Charm is a Shepherd mixed-breed puppy who is very sweet.  He was very smelly (a bath was the first thing on the agenda!) but also very healthy.  He is a blank slate who will do very well with some training, since he wants to do nothing but please people.

On September 14, 2016, Charm met a lady from Woodstock and it was done:  he was hers!  Congratulations, Charm.  Send photos as you grow up!

"Shakira" came to DunRoamin' from the Fredericton area on June 30, 2016 where her owner was not able to take her when she moved.  Shakira's options were limited, so she came to us for help.

Shakira was born about December 30, 2013 and is a Shepherd mix.  She has a problem on her hind end for which she has learned to compensate by hopping along on both hind legs.  She has undergone x-rays which indicated that a vertebra in her spine is more triangle-shaped than rectangle-shaped, but she gets around very well and appears to exhibit no signs of pain.  She loves swimming, going for walks and chasing a ball.

Shakira was a little timid around new people, but she got over that quickly.  She is a very lovely dog who walks well on a leash and comes with a call.  She loves treats and gets along well with cats and the other dogs she has encountered with us.

On September 6, 2016, Shakira was adopted by a lady from Fredericton.  Please send lots of photos and updates - we will miss her.  Congratulations on having Shakira join your family.  She is a beautiful little girl who deserves the very best.

"Maxine" originally came to DunRoamin' on March 29, 2016 from the Woodstock area where she was a stray.  She was adopted on April 17, 2014, but is now back with us.

Maxine is a Terrier mix who was born about March 15, 2013.  She is a beautiful little girl!

On September 2, 2016, Maxine was adopted by a very nice lady from Rowena, where she'll spend the rest of her life.  Congratulations, Maxine!

"Prince Harry" came to us from Ashland on August 23, 2016.  He was born about August 23, 2014, was not yet neutered and had moderate tartar on his teeth.  He was good with other animals but was not yet house trained, although he's working very hard on it!    He had not received vaccinations and was not neutered.

Prince Harry is a sweet little boy who loves attention.  He will be given all the medical care he requires.

On August 29, 2016, Prince Harry was adopted by a young family from Woodstock.  Congratulations, Prince Harry!  Enjoy your new family!

"Panda" came to DunRoamin' on July 5, 2016 from the Tobique area.  She is a SharPei mix and is an exceptionally sweet little girl who was born about September 4, 2015.  She had been missing for several days and when she returned home, her left hind leg was dangling behind her.  She required immediate medical care.

Panda was examined at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and was found to have a badly-broken left hind leg - her femur was in at least three pieces.  It may have been broken for at least a few days or more and as she required extensive orthopaedic repair, she was immediately transported to the Oakes Veterinary and Emergency Referral Centre in Moncton where was assessed by an orthopaedic surgeon to determine exactly what might be done to help this beautiful little girl.

Her surgeon in Moncton placed a plate and pin in her leg and shereturned to her friends at DunRoamin'.  She needs lots of kennel rest for a few weeks to ensure her leg heals properly.  She is very fortunate to be able to undergo this surgery to help her keep her leg and she is very grateful to all the donors who made it possible.

On August 22, 2016, Panda was chosen by a nice couple from Skiff Lake, NB to join their family.  Thank you so much.  Take good care of yourself, Panda, and write often!  Send photos, too!

"Tripp" came to us on August 2, 2016 from the Perth-Andover area where he had been struck by a car and his owners were unable to undergo the care he would require.  His left front leg sustained injury which damaged nerves and he is unable to use it.  Tripp was not yet neutered upon his arrival.

Trip was born about 2014 and is a real sweetheart.  He likes other dogs, has no problem at all with cats and LOVES people.  He enjoys all the attention he is garnishing from his servants at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  On August 11, 2016, he underwent surgery to have his left front leg removed.

On August 16, 2016 it became official:  he is the newest member of the family of a young lady from Greenfield.  Congratulations, Tripp!

"Buddy" came to DunRoamin' on August 10, 2016 as no other alternatives were available to him.  He is a Golden Lab mix who is about three years old.

On August 10, 2016, he was adopted by a family from the Miramichi.  Congratulations, Buddy!

"Rosario" came to us on July 13, 2016 from the Tobique area where she had been found to be too active for the senior and young children who visited.  Rosario was born about July 13, 2015 and is a lab/border collie mix.  She is a healthy young girl who needs a little training and a family that meets her energy level.

Rosario was not familiar with being in a house and initially did not know how to act with other dogs, but she has already come a very long way and learned quickly in her foster home.  She loves other dogs and would like to have a family of her own, maybe even with another canine friend.

On August 11, 2016, Rosario was adopted by a family in Elgin.  Congratulations.

"Tika" originally came from the Canterbury area where she had been tied the majority of her life.  Her family was moving and was unable to take her with them, so she needed another alternative.  She came to us on August 4, 2016.

Tika is a beautiful little Lab mix who was born about August 4, 2013.  She is great with dogs and people, although she takes a couple of minutes to warm up to new human friends.  Our friends at Paw & Order were quick to step up and help her when her options became more limited.  Thanks to everyone who helped change her life! She is learning new things every day.

Tikka found her furever family on August 5, 2016 and will be living in Fredericton with her new parents and her canine brother.  She thanks all who had a hand in giving her this new "leash" on life!

"Dentine" came to DunRoamin' on June 8, 2016 as a surrender from the NBSPCA.  She was born approximately sometime in 2006.  Her vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic diagnosed several medical concerns, including a heart murmur, dental issues and mammary tumour.

All of Dentine's teeth required extraction.  She was spayed and her mammary tumour was removed.  Her heart murmur appeared to be stable so no medication is currently required, although there is a probable requirement for heart medication at some point in the future.  She will require repeat chest x-rays every six months and her heart and remaining mammary glands must be monitored two or three times a year to ensure that she remains as healthy as she now is.

Dentine likes other dogs and cats and would also be fine as an only pet.  She is very affectionate and would be in seventh heaven if she got to sit on someone's lap and be cuddled all day long!  Her foster mother reports, "She is a sweet, well-mannered little girl who loves snuggles, sleeping in the bed, riding in the car and going for walks.  She eats a heart-healthy diet and she eats well, even though she has no teeth."  She loves her canine foster family, tolerates felines well and is house trained.

On August 4, 2016, Dentine met her new family.  She will now live in the Mirimichi where she will be a friend for another ex-DunRoamin' dog, Capone.  Congratulations, Dentine!  Send lots of photos of you and Capone!

"Duncan" originally came to DunRoamin' from the Douglas area where, due to circumstances beyond their control, his family was unable to keep him.  Duncan was born about November 21, 2015.

Duncan was fostered with our friends at Paw & Order in Keswick where he took advantage of a little obedience and crate training while he was visiting.  Please check them out on their website and on Facebook - they're awesome dog people!!

On February 28, 2016, Duncan was adopted by a family in the Fredericton area but unfortunate family circumstances unrelated to him forced his family to give him up.  On July 3, 2016, he was returned to DunRoamin'.  We'd like to thank Stephanie and her staff at Paw & Order for giving Duncan a place to stay while he awaited another home.

Duncan has taken a puppy class at the Barking Lot in Fredericton and has achieved Obedience level 1.  He's a very loving and obedient dog.  He is quite vocal and still has a bit of aggression towards his food bowl but  he is improving everyday.  Duncan's friends at Paw & Order tell us he's even sweeter than when they first met him!

On July 10, 2016, Duncan found his forever home with a couple in Fredericton where he'll be their very best new friend.  Duncan would like to thank Stephanie and Elisha for all their help in making sure he is right where he should be!  Congratulations, Duncan!  Please send us lots of photos!

"Harmi" came to DunRoamin' on June 7, 2016 from the Woodstock area.  He was born about June 7, 2015 and appears to be a Rottie mix.

Since being in his foster home with several other dogs, Harmi has blossomed and has learned to come when called, to sit on command and to comply with house rules.  He is great with all his foster family dogs, is okay with cats and seems to like kids.  He is high energy and loves to wrestle and play with other dogs, so would most likely do best in a home with at least one other dog.

Since Harmi is doing so well with all the new learning he has been experiencing, we recommend that his new family takes him to obedience classes to further his training, increase his socialization and to develop a strong bond.  He's a real sweetheart and he deserves the best!

On July 7, 2016, Harmi was adopted to a family in Hartland.  Congratulations, Harmi!

"Smitty" came back to DunRoamin' on January 26, 2016 from Upper Kintore where he had been adopted in October, 2015.  He had originally come to us on August 25, 2015 from the Muniac area where he had been seen lying on the side of the road for at least 24 hours before anyone called for help for him.  He had sores on his hind quarters and his feet were injured and bloody.  He was thin and had flaking and scaling skin.  All these matters were addressed immediately.  Smitty was very fearful and growled at his rescuers for the first day or so after he was rescued, but soon realized that he was safe and that no more harm would come to him.  He was neutered and adopted to a wonderful family.  Unfortunately, he proved to be too much for them as he is a large and energetic dog who loves to play and although he has a chronic lameness in his left front leg, he loves to go for walks and he sometimes likes to carry a toy, ball or bone along with him.

Smitty is a happy little Rottie mix who was born about February 25, 2014.  He has beautiful shining eyes, he knows commands to sit, stay, come and lie down and he is very attentive to his humans, especially if there's a treat involved!  He is 80 pounds of pure love of life but because of his size and outgoing, boisterous personality, he'd prefer a family with older kids and an experienced handler.  He would like a home where he can get lots of exercise and fresh air.  Smitty loves to play and will chase and return a ball for as long as you'll throw it for him - the green ball in the top picture is his favourite!!  He sometimes takes a little bit of time to warm up to some people, but when he loves them, he loves them all the way and is happy to do all he can to please them!  If you're experienced with big dogs, he may be your next best friend!  On May 26, 2016, Smitty went to Blue Bell, NB to see if he'd like to live there for ever.

On June 30, 2016, he definitely realized that this was his home and no matter how many skunks provoked him, he's not leaving!  He loves his family too much!  And they love him too!!  Congratulations, Smitty!  Keep sending lots of letters!

"Patti" came to DunRoamin' on June 16, 2016.  She was born about June 16, 2015 and had not been feeling well for quite some time.  Her white cell count was very low and she needed help.

Norma loves to go for walks, chase a ball and is very good with other dogs.  She also will deposit sticks and rocks at your feet if you'd like to throw them for her!  She will happily sit on your lap if you let her, but she also likes her own bed on the floor.  Norma loves to jump straight up in the air with all four legs when she's chasing a ball and she is hilarious to play with - she smiles the entire time!   Once playtime is done, she settles into her bed for a nice long nap.  She is familiar with cats and will ignore them when instructed.  She knows some basic commands such as "Come!" and "Sit" and is very willing to learn more.  She has mega personality and is a very upbeat little girl.

On June 9, 2016, Norma met a very nice couple from Fredericton.  She now resides with them - her dream has come true!  Congratulations to you and your new family!  Please stay in touch!

Tristan's family tells us that Tristan is a very smart boy!  He often turns doorknobs to let himself into rooms he wants to be in and he loves extra treats.  He loves to lie on the bed or couch with his humans.  He's not that much of an outdoor dog, but he does enjoy short walks.  He adores people, especially children.  He has successfully completed obedience training and knows lots of commands.  He loves fruits and veggies (especially cucumbers, corn, strawberries and watermelons).  Car rides are his favourite thing in the world and he is very well behaved in a vehicle.  Tristan is, however, timid of bicycles.  Otherwise, he's a relaxed, very goofy and lovable big guy.

Danni is a Great Dane who was born about July 23, 2011.  She is spayed and vaccinated and she loves kids.  She is not too keen on small dogs or cats, so would like to go to a home as an only pet, or perhaps with an experienced family that has another big dog and no small pets.

Danni likes going in the car and she likes kids.  She is healthy and happy but needs to be on leash or tether when outdoors as she has been known to jump a fence (and tussle with porcupines!)  She's a great girl who enjoys people and would love to have a family to adore her.

On February 1, 2016, we learned that Danni had found another home.  She will be loved by a family in Fredericton where she'll be spoiled rotten!!  Congratulations to you and your new family, Danni!  We'd like to thank Paw & Order in Keswick, NB for helping make this dream come true!

"Walker" came to DunRoamin' from Bristol on January 5, 2016.  He was born about March 1, 2015 and is already 80 pounds of sweetness.

Walker is a healthy Lab mix.   He loves other dogs and loves to run and play.  He would be good with older kids and is very protective of his family.  He particularly enjoys running and playing with other dogs and he'll chase and return a ball to you for as long as you'll throw it for him!  You'll get tired long before he will, but he always has a huge smile on his face while he's playing!

On January 30, 2015, we learned that Walker was welcomed into a family in Fredericton where he's adored already by a very nice young couple!  Walker will be attending manners classes with his friends at Paw & Order who played a large part in helping him get to his new home and family.  Thank you again for all you do for our DunRoamin' dogs!

"Thatcher" came back to us on January 3, 2016.  He had originally come to us on May 11, 2015 from the Perth-Andover area.  He was adopted to a family in Fredericton, but he was brought back after having two incidents involving small dogs in a very short period of time over the holidays.

Thatcher is a Lab/Shepherd mix who was born about November 15, 2012.  He is a smart boy who learns quickly and is eager to please.  He walks well on a leash and is very attentive and loving to his humans.  He loves to chase the water from a garden hose and will do it for as long as you'll let him!  He is also great at chasing balls and returning them to you!  He likes big dogs but may not do so well with little dogs.

Thatcher stayed with his friends at Paw & Order in Keswick Ridge while awaiting a new home where he ran, played and enjoyed the company of many new two- and four-footed friends.  Please check out Paw & Order - it's a great place and they're amazing people!  Thanks for fostering him and for everything else you do to support DunRoamin's strays!!

On January 5, 2016, we learned that Thatcher had won the hearts of a very nice couple in Fredericton.  He'll now live with them where he'll have the best life of which a dog could dream.  Congratulations, Thatcher.  Thanks so much, Jan!

"Holly" came back to DunRoamin' on December 11, 2015.  She had originally come from Perth-Andover on December 4, 2014, where she had accidentally been dragged by a car.  She had open wounds on her feet, elbows and bottom of her chest.  She was treated at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and was quickly back on her feet again and was adopted on December 10, 2014.  She was born about May 15, 2014 and is a Shepherd mix.

Holly is a beautiful little girl.  Unfortunately, her family's circumstances changed and they did not have as much time to spend with her as she needed.  Holly is good with kids and has been crate trained.  She loves to play fetch and loves to go for walks or runs.  She knows some basic commands, but would like to learn much more.

On January 4, 2016, we learned that Holly had been chosen by a very nice lady to be her newest friend.  She now lives in Bath, NB with her new family where she will be spoiled beyond words!  Congratulations, Holly!
